What Makes Adorare Tile So Touchable?
You know the experience of a natural stone surface. Chances are, you’ve been captivated by the swirling veins of color, your eyes naturally finding images and meaning within the random natural patterns. But it is its texture that draws you to reach out to touch it, as if to make certain it is real.
Texture adds more than just dimension to natural stone surfaces. It adds allure.
And because the unique randomness of nature is difficult to replicate artificially, texture can also add a significant degree of authenticity.
This is the effect Adorare has on those who experience it. It looks and feels just like natural stone, even though it is crafted from high-quality Italian porcelain, a substance far more durable.
Making Adorare
Adorare owes its existence to recent innovations in production. Quite simply, it would not have been possible to produce it a few years ago because it further evolves the printing processes that have recently revitalized the porcelain industry.
Production begins with the high-resolution printing of a natural stone veining pattern on a smooth porcelain tile substrate. This will form the base level of the tile’s design.
Next, the same high-resolution design is printed on the surface with a special adhesive, perfectly matching it in reverse, like a negative image. The surface is then coated with fine, high-performance ceramic grits that instantly bond with the adhesive. Any excess material is then carefully removed, leaving the original printed areas exposed and the remainder covered in ceramic grit.
The tile is then kiln-fired, causing the grit to harden and vitrify, becoming an integral part of the porcelain slab.
Finally, the porcelain slab is honed to the desired finish, resulting in a finished piece with a texture that perfectly matches the design printed on its surface.
The result is a unique surface that looks and feels just like natural stone, but performs as only porcelain can. It is significantly harder than marble and many other natural stones, and also impermeable to moisture, making it ideal for use in any location – both inside and out.
Even better, Adorare’s non-porous nature renders it far more hygienic than every kind of natural stone. It resists scratches, moisture, bacteria, and frost resistant. In fact, it outperforms natural stone in nearly every way.
Yet it remains every bit as touchable.
Reach Out and Touch It
Adorare’s inimitable allure begins with its beautifully apt reproduction of the look of natural stone. But it is the touch that seals the deal. When you reach out and touch the sublime, textural elements that play across Adorare’s surface, you’ll find it difficult to believe that it came from anywhere else but a quarry.
Our goal in creating Adorare was to make “the perfect Italian surface.” One that could be a feast for the senses of both sight and touch, while providing the durability and performance of today’s finest engineered surfaces.
So, when we trace our fingertips across a multi-size tile of Adorare, we feel more than texture. We feel success.
